Fall Capsule Wishlist

Every season I try to go through my wardrobe to see if there's any new pieces that I want and/or need. In the past, I haven't been so strict and would buy whatever, whenever. However, if you read my last post on How to Ignore Fashion Rules & Find Your Personal Style, you know how I got over that method of shopping and how it has helped my wardrobe and style development overall.

So, everything new that I bring home has a purpose. I must have a need for it (or really, really want it). For instance, I know I need tops. So, I will look for tops that are 1) neutral in color 2) versatile (can be worn multiple ways, and 3) well-made. This goes for anything that I bring into my closet. I do leave a bit a room for fun items but honestly, I let my tattoos and lipstick add the fun factor to my outfits. Though, I've been diggin' statement tops lately... I do think it's best when we can put our own touches and rules to what works best for us. Figure out what your priorities are when it comes to shopping and styling, and go from there!

The Seven Pieces I plan on buying this season:

So, for autumn I came up with a few items that I really want to add to my closet. I am literally in love with the above suede moto coat from Madewell (#5), and before I shell out for it, I will try to find a vintage version first. I have also been coveting the mules from Mari Giudicelli (#6). I pinned them ages ago to my Want board on Pinterest and I think it might be time to get them. I think they'd be cool paired with cropped pants and with socks or tights on cooler nights. Also, ever since I heard about TyLynn Nguyen I've been wanting one of her silk slip dresses (#4) as they're nice to dress up with pumps and leather pants (for cooler nights) or dress down with a T-Shirt and kicks.

I love the versatility of the wrap shirt (#2) as it can be worn as a shirt or third layering piece on top of a blouse. I want a new sweater for the fall and I randomly found this one on Zara. It's not as versatile as I like but it would be one of the rare, more fun pieces I let into my closet. It still can be dressed up several ways so it's definitely not a one trick pony... As far as the straight-leg, crop jean (#3) they are a must-have for me. I'm a true denim girl and I've been wanting a pair like this for a while. Like the suede moto jacket, I will try to find a pair of vintage jeans first and hem them myself. Lastly, ever since I sold my white PONY low-top sneakers, I've been wanting a like pair. I ran across this brand Axel Arigato (surprisingly from Sweden!!) and I'm in love with ALL of their shoes but I won't let myself get distracted. So, these all white pair will do just fine! :)

What's on your fall fashion wishlist?
